GOOD TO KNOW

Surf & Kite FAQ

Is Cabarete good for beginner surfers?

Yes. Perla Marina, right on the property, is a calm, forgiving spot for first-timers, and several surf schools nearby specialize in beginner lessons.

Do I need to bring my own board?

No — rental boards are available at every break within walking distance, typically $10-20/day. Bringing your own is fine too; we offer free secure storage.

How far is Kite Beach from the lodge?

About a 12-minute drive. It's the Caribbean's premier kitesurfing beach, with the most reliable trade winds in the region during peak season (June-August).

What's the water and air temperature like?

Warm year-round — water stays around 26-28°C (79-82°F) and air temperatures range from the high 70s to low 90s°F, so a rash guard is usually all you need, no wetsuit required.
